Who is Cindi?
A lifelong Hoosier.
Cindi Clayton is a 30-year Evansville resident who was raised in a union household, educated in public schools, and shaped by Southern Indiana values of hard work and community. A USI graduate with degrees in Psychology and Communication, Cindi brings 25 years of HR/policy writing and implementation experience and a decade of teaching to the ballot. With a passion for serving her neighbors, Cindi is ready to fight for working families and move Indiana forward.

CINDI’S PRIORITIES
Fighting for Our Community
These are some of the top priorities our campaign is focused on.

The IURC oversight of Centerpoint is simply not working. What was designed to be a check and balance has turned into a rubber stamp to gouge the citizens of our community while a Texas-based CEO rakes in 9 million dollars a year and lectures us on lowering our thermostats. Our politicians in Indy are bought and paid for by energy companies. My opponent has had 15+ years in office to act on energy gouging yet has chosen not to do so. I will fight them at every turn, and I commit to refusing any funding at all from energy companies.

The Republican supermajority that has been running our state unchecked for the last 20 years has slowly been defunding public education - just a little bit each year, hoping we don't notice. Our public schools are the foundation of our communities and our children are our most important priority. Therefore restoring funding will be my most important priority.

Our current representatives have forgotten that they are public servants - they work for US! They ignore our calls, mock our voices, and focus on out of state interests rather than our needs. I view your vote as an opportunity to serve you. I'd be honored if you'd allow me to represent you in Indianapolis and I will set an example of servant leadership that will make you proud.

District 49, located in beautiful Southwest Indiana, encompasses all of Posey County and parts of Vanderburgh counties. District 49 includes communities such as Evansville, Mount Vernon, New Harmony, Poseyville, Darmstadt, and McCutchanville, with a population of ~130,000 residents.
